The founder of Marcombi, Francesco Praderio, was born into a family of carriers from northern Italy and moved to Barcelona at the beginning of the 70s to be the benchmark for the company in the rapidly expanding Spanish market. He lives and actively participates in the beginnings of Short Distance Maritime Transport (TMCD) as an alternative to road transport between Italy and Spain.
His direct participation in the problem solving and responding to the needs of the new mode of transport, together with the knowledge acquired during his years on the road, give him a very complete global vision of the new market´s requirements and potential. In 2003 he founded Mare Combinato, hereinafter Marcombi, with the aim of offering Italian carriers who were beginning to use the Short See Shipping system with the shipping company Grimaldi, the transport service for their trailers to the final destination. This is how Marcombi began its business path as a Spanish benchmark in the TMCD for the elderly.
Management team
During the first years of Marcombi’s existence, first Giuseppe Praderio with a background in Economics and thenClaudia Praderio with a background in Law, joined the company.
This team, made up of a father and his children, always attentive to the needs and demands of the market, never stops growing and improving. hey learn from their clients and grow organically together with them, making the necessary investments to offer a service always in search of maximum efficiency.
The Praderio siblings currently run the company. Each one of them over the years has selected and trained their own team with whom they work daily in order to offer their clients a personalized and quality service.
CURRENTLY
Mare Combinato supports each of its collaborators in order to enable them to develop and express their maximum potential. Our team works continuously with the aim of anticipating any situation and being able to resolve incidents in the quickest and most efficient manner possible.
Currently Marcombi has two work centers in Molins de Rei (Barcelona) and Ribarroja del Turia (Valencia), 45 tractor heads, predominantly DAF brand, and 20 platforms.
It has a team of 9 people working in the offices, 2 mechanics and 45 professional drivers. Since July 2015, its management system for the intermodal transport of conventional and adr goods complies with the requirements of the ISO 9001:2008 standard, certified by the company DNV.
